A group of unknown people broke through the guards into the front door, one of the attackers threw a bomb. Fortunately, neither the prince himself nor the Minister of the Interior Plehve were injured. The head of the Moscow security department, who closed them from the explosion, died on the spot. The student who threw the bomb also died from his wounds, and another bomber was detained. The rest of the group is wanted.

This news stirred up a wave of controversy in secular salons. Adherents of the monarchy condemn the bloody terror, but there are those who justify the bombers.
